Connecting the dots. | 57/100

Meditation helps me perform better at work. Weightlifting builds my self confidence. Reading makes it easier to connect with others. Travelling opens my eyes to new cultures. Yoga helps my running.

In The Book of Five Rings, a battle hardened samurai, Musashi, extracts life lessons from years of combat. One of them is this:

“From one thing, know ten thousand things.”

-Miyamoto Musashi

Don’t worry about figuring out how it all fits together: it’s all connected anyway. Connected by you. And how you do anything is how you do everything.

  1. Nice! Looks like you’re advocating for a reductionist mentality. Case example of reduction is the batting average –which is just a few discrete pieces of data that are reduced into that single metric to act as a baseline for baseball player performance. “From one metric, know a lot of things about a baseball player”
